After some time away, some reflection, new life experiences, research, soul searching, and just general growth and evolution, I’ve decided to come back to this account in the hopes of transforming it into something new!
My personal Health & Wellness journey started with a desire to lose weight in order to be seen as more attractive, more desirable, more cast-able, more lovable, and just generally more valuable. It had nothing to do with Health - at least not at first.
After some crash diets and intense doctor supervised weight-loss programs that ultimately led nowhere, I decided to go all in with @toneitup. The TIU meal plan helped me shift my focus away from quick fixes and shifted my attention to creating long-lasting, behavioral change. The specific meal plans were exactly what I needed starting out. I had always been a fairly active kid/young adult, so K&K helped me refocus on caring for my body from the inside out with nutrition. After 2+ years of being a dedicated #tiugirl
(and seeing results!), I began to encounter new resources that I wanted to incorporate into my healthcare regimen. I love lifting heavy. I love yoga and have found meditation and mindfulness to be huge aids in both my physical and mental health. I enjoy reading food blogs, fitness blogs, all sorts of blogs! So I am constantly finding new things to try and new outlooks to incorporate into my life.
The evolution of my understanding and approach to Heath & Wellness is a bit too long to detail in a single Instagram post. Suffice to say that today my definition of these words is far broader than numbers on a scale, clothing sizes, or even images in the mirror. I’m hoping to use this account to share my journey and my resources as I find them. Social media can be such a troubling place sometimes, but it can also be such a wonderful source of community, resources, & crowdsourcing!
