I thought I had more "silver" wire at my disposal but luckily🍀 it was just enough to see what one of my bracelets would look like in "silver". I say silver because it is actually Tin plated copper, I know, very misleading😩. As such is anything stated that it is "silver" or "gold" colored, people would assume that it is made of such materials. When shopping🛒🛍 for gifts🎁 this year be very careful that you are not paying for the silver and gold price tag💲 and end up getting something plated instead. Dont get me wrong, real silver and gold plated wiring is very beautiful and is a great alternative to the much more expensive solid gold/sterling silver (92.5%silver) wiring.
I thought that Amethyst would be a great stone to use for this experiment🥼🧪 and hope to be working with Sterling silver soon. I had made a copper version of this bracelet before which I feel is just as stunning 😯 with the contrast of the copper color. Wanted to make a post with both of them so you can see the comparison between the two👀. Another thing about plated jewelry is that if it becomes scratched or not taken care of the plating can flake off, exposing the bare brass or copper wire underneath. This is why I coat my jewelry with 2-3 protective layers of Protectaclear. So yes this Amethyst Bracelet is made with Tin plated copper wire, but it sure doesn't look it! And with that many layers of protection it can hold up against the regular ware of jewelry use.
