Brushing your hair is very important, I know a lot of us don’t do it often enough and although 100 stokes every day is a bit much let’s discuss why we should be doing it on the regular and the proper way to detangle your locks.
Step 1. Before you get into the shower to wash your hair brush your scalp, this helps to remove dirt and oil so your shampoo can do it job properly, and easily. It also helps to stimulate the scalp to flush blood and promote new and hair growth.
Step 2. When your conditioner or treatment is in your hair in the shower use a wide tooth comb or detangle brush to Combe throughly the product. Do NOT brush your hair when wet with a regular brush like a paddle brush Hair is in its most porous state when wet, the bonds that hold the hair together are broken and very fragile. Hair will easily snap when brushed with paddle brushes or anything not designed for wet hair.
Step 3. After washing dry your hair and apply a moisturiser or detailing spray to the hair and again comb the hair with a detangle brush or wide tooth comb.
Step 4. Blowdry the hair to 80% dry before using any kind of brush or styling tool. This will ensure the hairs bond have had a chance to re bond and strengthen again. Re brush with a wide tooth comb or detangle brush and use a paddle brush or round brush to blowdry.
Step 5. If using a heat tool remember to have the hair 100% dry and use a heat protector.
