NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Zan Asha
Her next project led her a five year travel and writing tour called Beyond Vagabond, where she continued drawing and painting, creating art fueled by Slavic and Roma (Gypsy) stories and music passed down from her European mother. As a result, her art encompasses the style and subject of whimsical old world folk and forest tales and long-forgotten myths, customs and lore.
She works her stories in cloth and wood, but her most notable medium is ceramics, with a goal of creating BOTH fairy tale AND functional designs. In addition, her love of the primitive has added the distinction of creating her works literally by hand--there are no potter’s wheels involved, only the hand sculpting of clay with the aid of basic tools.
